| Pope | Head of the Roman Catholic Church. |
| Vikings | Fine soilders who came from nothern Europe. |
| Charlemage | A King which became strong enought to unite all Western Europe. |
| Feudalism | A political and military system based on the holding of land. |
| Fief | Land, and everything on it, which a lord gave to a vessel. |
| Knight | A soldier who fought for a Lord. |
| Lord | A King or a noble who gave land to someone else |
| Page | A young noble who learned certain behaviours to become a knight. |
| Peasant | A poor farmer or farmworker. |
| Vassal | A person who recieved land from a king or noble and gave loyalty in return. |
| Manor | The part of fief that peasants farm for the lord. |
| Serf | A peasant who was bound to the land and whose life was controlled by the lord or the manor. |
| Bishop | A priest who is in charge of other priests and a number of churches. |
| Parliament | The English council or lawmaking assembly. |
