satyagraha a term that combines the Hindu words for "truth" and "holding firmly"
civil disobedience the active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power /refusing to obey an unjust law
harijan "children of God" -term used by Gandhi for the Pariahs, or UNTOUCHABLES (THE LOWEST CLASS-as they were labeled.) Pariahs were considered the lowest caste (social class) in India.
