| Subluxation | partial dislocation of a bone from its joint; sometimes referred to as double-jointedness |
| Bursitis | inflammation of the bursa; the fluid filled pad between tendon and bone |
| Tendinitis | inflammation of a tendon |
| Osteoarthritis | wear & tear; progressive unsymmetrical deterioration and breakdown of articular cartilage, avoid inflamed joints |
| Rheumatoid arthritis | severe chronic synovitis, autoimmune reaction, avoid joints when in acute inflammation stage |
| Gout | metabolic disorder, development of tophi(masses of uric acid crystals) in and around joints, avoid inflamed joints |
| Osgood Schlatter disease | caused by growth spurt, partial separation (avulsion) of the tibial tuberosity from the tibial shaft resulting in inflammation of bone & connective tissue, avoid affected area |
| Chondromalacia Patellae | deterioration of the articular cartilage on the posterior patella |
| TMJ dysfunction | any kind of abnormal function of the temperomandibular joint |
| Degenerative disk disease | deterioration of the intervertebral disks in the spinal column; painful areas contraindicated. |
