| Appeasement | Accepting demands in order to avoid conflict. |
| Blitzkrieg | Name given to sudden violent offensive attacks the Germans used during World War 2;"lightning war". |
| Holocaust | Name given to the mass slaughter of Jews and other groups by the Nazis during World War 2. |
| Concentration/Extermination camp | A camp where persons are detained or confined. |
| Strategic materials | Materials needed for fighting a war. |
| Cost Plus | A government contract to pay a manufacturer the cost to produce an item plus a guaranted percentage. |

| Rationing | The giving out of scarce items on a limited basis. |
