QuestionAnswer
What is a plateau? An area of flat land that rises above the surrounding land.
A long period of dry weather.
What is the Fertile Crescent? A fertile region in the southwestern Asia that includes the region of Mesopotamia.
What is the Tigris River? A river in southwestern Asia that flows through the eastern part of the Fertile Crescent.
What is the Euphrates River? A river in the southwestern Asia that flows through the southern part of the Fertile Crescent.
What is Mesopotamia? The region between the Tigris and the and the Euphrates rives; birthplace of the Sumerians and the Babylonia civilizations.
What is a cuneiform? A system of writing that used wedge-shaped symbols to represent sounds, ideas, and objects; developed in ancient Sumer.
What is a City-State? A self-governing city, often with surrounding land a villages.
What is a Ziggurat? A large temple located in the centers of the ancient Sunerians cities.
What is Polytheism? The belief in many gods and goddesses.
What is the Code of Law? A written set of laws that apply to everyone under a goverment.
