| How did this clothing protect the horsemen? | armor protected his body from arrows. Arrows couldn’t easily penetrate the raw silk shirts. If shot, a soldier could gently pull the shirt to pop out the arrow from the wound. The silk protected the wound and it would stay cleaner and heal quicker. |
| What is siege warfare? | A tactic used against towns and cities since the days of ancient empires. The soldiers shot arrows over the walls for days, weeks, or months, and also withheld food until the people gave up. |
