Amon-Re What the Egyptians called the supreme god by the middle kingdom

Akhenaton The name that a young pharaoh named Amenhotep IV acquired. He devoted his life to the worship of Aton, a minor god.
mummification the preservation of dead bodies by enabling them and wrapping them in cloth
Hieroglyphics a system in which symbols of pictures called hieroglyphics represent objects, concepts, or sounds
Papyrus a plant that grows along the banks of the Nile
Decipher figuring out the meaning of
Rosetta Stone stone monument that includes the same passage carved in hieroglyphics, demotic script, and Greek and that was used to decipher the meaning of many hieroglyphics
