What is a Direct Democracy? All adult take part in the decisions. Decisions are made at town meetings where all adults can speak and vote
What is Tribal Rule Members have a say in group decisions. But the chief usually makes the final decision. Decisions are based on cultural beliefs and customs.
What is an Absolute Monarchy? A king or queen inherits the throne by birth and has complete control. Very few today. Saudi Arabia is one.
What is a Dictatorship? One person rules. Not a king or queen but someone with almost total power. Leaders remain in control through fear and violence. North Korea is one.
What is an Oligarchy? Governments controlled by a small group. Ordinary people have little say. China is one controlled by the Communist Party.
What is a Constitutional Monarchy? Governments have constitutions which limit the power of the king or queen. England is one.
What is Representational Democracy? People choose leaders to represent them in making decisions and laws. Citizens can work to change the laws they don't like. A constitution makes sure that power is shared.
