| Term | Definition |

| Evidence | that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground for belief; proof. something that makes plain or clear; an indication or sign. |
| Primary Source | a first-hand or original account. |
| Secondary Source | a description based on a first-hand account, often of a historical event. an analysis of or commentary on a literary work or piece of art. |
| Point of View | a particular attitude, standpoint, or the narrative perspective from which a story is told. |
| Chronology | the sequential order in which past events occur. a statement of this order. the science of arranging time in periods and ascertaining the dates and historical order of past events. a reference work organized according to the dates of events. |
| Periodization | an act or instance of dividing a subject into historical eras for purposes of analysis and study. |
| Bias | a particular tendency, trend, inclination, feeling, or opinion, especially one that is preconceived or unreasoned. unreasonably hostile feelings or opinions about a social group; prejudice. |
| Credibility | the quality of being believable or worthy of trust. |
| Thesis Statement | a short statement, usually one sentence, that summarizes the main point or claim of an essay, research paper, etc., and is developed, supported, and explained in the text by means of examples and evidence. |
