| Plebians | Ordinary citizens could not serve in the Senate. |
| Republic | A government system where the citizens have the right to vote and select representatives from their area, who then rule as representatives of the people |
| Praetors | Served as judges who settled disputes and arguments about money and contracts. |
| Barbarians | These are different groups of many Northern European peoples who invaded Rome and were a key factor in the eventual fall of the Roman Empire |
| Patricians | The wealthy or upper-class men who could sit and participate in the senate. |
| Census | A system where citizens were counted and registered based on their property and wealth |
| Consuls | Laws were enforced by these officials. |
| Tyrant | An all-powerful and or cruel ruler |
| Juilus Caesar | In 49 BCE he that defied the Senate’s orders and attacked Pompey which directly led to a civil war. He became a dictator and eventually he was assassinated by the Senate. |
