What is the worlds largest Desert? The Sahara
What is a Sachel? An Arabic word meaning shore.
How much rain does Africa average per year? 60 to 100 inches a year.
What are savannas? Grassy, tree dotted plains. Many elephants, lions,and giraffes live in these areas.
What is Africa's tallest mountain? Mount Kilimanjaro.
What is a basin? A large bowl shaped dip in the land into which rivers flow from surrounding highlands.
What is the Great Rift Vally? It is 3,000 miles of long and divides Africa from the western portion of the continent.
What is hydroelectric power? Power made by falling water.
