What does SENATE mean? Roman officials who were appointed by the consuls
What does VETO mean? To reject or prohibit actions and laws of other government officials
What does CHECKS AND BALANCES mean? A system that balances the distribution of power in a government
What does LATIN mean? The language of the Romans
What does ARCH mean? A structure that spans a space and supports structure and weight above it.
What does AQUEDUCT mean? A human-made raised channel that carries water from distant places
What does CIVIL LAW mean? A legal system based on a written code of laws
What does PAX ROMANA mean? Roman peace, a general time of peace and prosperity in Roman empire.
