| acute | (general subjective term) that is a severe symptom that just started recently or is sharp opposite of chronic |
| chronic | (general subjective term) symptoms that have been going on for a while, are long lasting, developing slowly and persistent opposite of acute |
| exacerbation | it is getting worse (general subjective term) |
| febrile | to have a fever (general subjective term) |
| afebrile | to not have a fever (general subjective term) |
| malaise | not feeling well (general subjective term) |
| progressive | more and more each day (general subjective term) |
| lethargic | a decreased level in consciousness (generally on med. record it means pt. is really sick) (general subjective term) |
| oriented and also oriented x3 | being aware of who they are, where they are, and the current time (general objective terms) |
| marked | really stands out (general objective term) |
| unremarkable | another way of saying normal (sounds bad but in medical terms it isn't) (general objective term) |
| auscultation | to listen (think acoustics) (general objective term) |
| palpation | to feel (general objective term) |
