| What is Baptism? | Baptism is a sacrament in which original sin and all sins committed to date are removed, and the soul is filled with grace. We become Christians, Children of God, and member of the church. |
| What is Confirmation? | Confirmation is a sacrament in which the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way to make us strong and more perfect Christians. |
| What is Holy Chrism? | Holy Chrism is a mixture of olive oil and balm blessed by the bishop on day during Holy Week. |

| What is Grace? | Grace is a supernatural gift of God bestowed on us through the merits of Jesus Christ for our salvation. |

| What is actual grace? | Actual grace is the supernatural help of God that enlightens our minds and strengthens our wills to do good and avoid evil. |
| What is sanctifying grace? | Sanctifying grace is that grace which confers on our souls a new life that is a sharing in the life of God himself. |
| What are the chief effects of sanctifying grace? | The chief effects of sanctifying grace are: it makes us holy and pleasing to God; it makes us adopted children of God; it makes us temples of the Holy Ghost; it gives us the right to heaven. |

| What does being in a state of Grace mean? | To be in a state of Grace a person must receive confession prior to receiving Confirmation. It is also recommended that the candidate go to confession at least once a month and before receiving the Eucharist. |
| Why weren’t you in a state of grace when you received the sacrament of Baptism? | I was not in the state of grace when I received the sacrament of Baptism because I had original sin on my soul. |
| From whom do we get original sin? | We got original sin from our parents (Adam and Eve). |
| What is the reason for having a sponsor in Confirmation? | A Confirmation sponsor will have the same duties as a baptismal godparent. The sponsors have a duty to help become more mature Catholics and witnesses of Jesus Christ, by prayer, word and example. |
