| Qurban Eid | Major festival in Islam at the new moon that ends the period of Hajj. It starts on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah. |
| Qurban criteria: | A camel must be over the age of 5, calves have to be at least 2yrs old, lambs and kids have to be at least a yearling. |
| Thirds of Qurban: | Given to the poor, given to relatives, reserved for family. |
| Eid | Islamic celebration after Ramadan and Hajj. |
| Qurban | The sacrifice of an animal for Allah. |
| Zakah | Compulsory donation (to only Muslims) of 2.5% (minimum) of wealth that has passed one year. |
| Who is obligated to give zakah? | Someone w/ no debt greater than wealth, possesses additional wealth to what they need for survival, sane. |
| To whom do we give zakah? | People in need, those who dedicate themselves to Islam, people whose hearts are warming up to Islam, charity organisations, needy relatives who are not close. |
| Zakah is given from possessions such as: | Gold, silver, other precious jewels, livestock animals, business profits, trading properties, farming goods. |
| Social benefits of zakah | Attains economical balance, establishes social security, strengthens the bonds of communities, removes the barrier between poor and wealthy. |
| Sadaqah | Optional charity for anybody including non-Muslims. Not always given in wealth. |
| Waqfa | Standing or staying. In Hajj, done at Arafat and Muzdalifa. |
| Tawaf | Walking around the Ka'bah 7 times and reciting certain prayers. |
| Mahsher | The place where humanity will gather of the Day of Judgement. |
| Sa'y | Running 7 times between Safa and Marwa. |
| Talbiyah | Prayer recited by pilgrims in Hajj. |
| Hijrah | Migration from Makkah to Madinah. |
