Four Major Theories of Religion part 4: Clifford Geertz Viewed religion from an anthropological perspective, focusing on cultural symbols and rituals that give meaning to people's lives and form their worldview
Exclusivist Assumes that salvation is found only through one specific religion, and people outside that religion are lost
Inclusivist Acknowledges that God's revelation is definitive in one religion, but also holds that God's love extends to and can save people who haven't heard of or explicitly accepted that religion
Pluralist Believes that salvation is not limited to a single path, and all major religions are equally valid paths to the same ultimate reality.
