Emile Durkheim Theory on Religion Believed religion's primary role is to enforce social cohesiveness and reflect social values. He wasn't concerned with the existence of God but rather with how religion unites a society
Karl Marx Theory on Religion Argued that religion is a tool used by the wealthy to exploit the poor and is considered the "opium of the people"
Sigmund Theory on Religion Saw religion through a psychological lens, as a form of wish fulfillment created to help people cope with life's difficulties.
Clifford Geertz Theory on Religion Viewed religion from an anthropological perspective, focusing on cultural symbols and rituals that give meaning to people's lives and form their worldview.
