Social Scientist

Vocabulary Words

QuestionAnswer
Social Scientist People who study the different relationships and institution of individuals who are members of a society.
Anthropologist Studies the social relationships within a society (family unit, marriage customs, social classes).
Economist Studies the economy of a society: the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services (forms of money, products produced, types of occupations).
Political Scientist Studies the political structure of a society (laws, form of government).
Historian Complies, interprets,and writes the information that is known about a society. An historian relies on the findings of other social scientist to help interpret and draw conclusions about a culture.
Primary sources First hand information, such as letters, autobiographies, photos, records or other documents created during the time frame being studied.
Secondary sources Second hand information such as history books that are usually put together after the event.
Archaeologist Studies the material remains of a culture to learn that society (artifacts, ecofacts).
