| Census | A periodic and official count of a country;s population. |
| Population Density | A measurement of the number of people per given unit of land. |
| Population data | The population, usually by age and sex, for the initial year of a projection. |
| Population Distribution | The pattern of the distribution of people over a defined area. |
| Arithmetic Population Density | The population of a country or region expressed as an average per unit area. |
| Physiologic Population Density | The number of people per unit area of agriculturally productive land. |
| Population Concentration | An area in which a population in concentrated; has a high population density. |
| Megalopolis | Term used to designate large coalescing supercities that are forming in diverse parts of the world. |
| Population Geography | A subdivision of human geography that focuses on the spatial aspects of demography and the influence of demographic change on particular places. |
