location Where a place is found on a map or globe
latitude Horizontal lines on a map or globe that tell location in degrees North or South
longitude Vertical lines on a map or globe that tell location in degrees East or West
place Human and physical characteristics of a place such as size, shape, climate, physical features, and people
human - environment interaction The way humans and the environment interact with each other, including how people use and change the land, where people live, and why they live there
movement The movement of people, goods, and ideas
imports Goods coming into a place
exports Goods going out of a place
push factors Reasons people leave a place
pull factors Reasons people move to a place
region An area with shared human or physical characteristics
formal region Defined formally (countries, states)
functional region A central place and surrounding area
perceptual region Defined by people's perceptions ("Bible Belt")
