Paleo - Neo

TermDefinition
Archaeology The study of human history.
Anthropology The science of human beings.
Hominid A primate of a family that includes humans and their fossil ancestors and also at least some of the great apes./ An early man like figure.
Homo sapiens sapiens The subspecies name for modern humans.
Out of Africa theory A model explaining the origin and global migration of modern humans.(All humanity started in Africa)
Domestication The process of taming an animal and keeping it as a pet or on a farm.
Paleolithic Early phase of the Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used.(Earliest group of humans)
Neolithic The later part of the Stone Age, when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed.(New stone age) When man began to farm.
Catalhuyuk A very large Neolithic and Chalcolithic proto-city settlement in southern Anatolia, Turkey.
Surplus food Food that is produced in excess of what is needed or consumed.
