TermDefinition
Do not resuscitate or do not attempt CPR; a medical order, indicating that no life-saving measure should be taken in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest. DNR or DNACPR
Advanced, cardiac life-support, a set of clinical interventions for urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening conditions. ACLS
Face, arms, speech, time-an acronym used to assess the symptoms of a stroke. FAST
Automated external defibrillator, a device used to deliver a shock to the heart in case of cardiac arrest. AED
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a life-saving procedure performed during cardiac arrest. CPR
