NKS Muscle Terms

| The thread like structures within muscle fibers that contain the proteins necessary for muscle cotraction. | Myofibril |
| Found only in the heart, these involuntary muscles are striated, but combined with other muscles in a network that lets them contract rhythmically and continuously. | Cardiac muscles |
| Found in the walls, Hollow organs like intestines, stomach, bladder, and blood vessels, these muscles like striation and are under involuntary control by the parasympathetic nervous system. | Smooth muscles |
