What is lymph made out of? blood plasma that filters out cap., lymphocytes, hormones, etc.
Where is lymph located? Intercellular or between cells
What is the function of Lymph? Acts as a bridge between cells & cap.
Where is the location of the spleen? Behind the stomach
What is the function of the spleen? 1. Produces lymphocytes 2.Stores red blood cells 3. Balances interstitial & plasma in the blood 4. Removes & destroys worn-out red cells
What is the spleen made of? Lymphatic tissue
Define what an autoimmune disease is: A condition where the person's antibodies react against their own tissues. Creating an allergen that causes allergies
Define the Monocytes: Immature cells that have little ability to fight infection.
Define the origin of Macrophages: Cells that destroy antigens and fights infection
What is the function of B lymphocytes? It acts upon targets by producing antibodies to create an immunity
B Cells make immunoglobulins, what is their function? It assists in the immune response
Identify the 5 classes of antibodies: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, IgM
What is the function of histamine Dilates blood vessels & slows down response
What are the 3 responses of inflammation? Localized warmth, redness, & swelling
What is the function of booster shots? Provides memory cells & antibodies for longer periods
Define Active Immunity: The person provides their own immunity response from immunizations
Define Passive Immunity: Given to people already exposed to a disease (tetanus)
