asphyxia lack of oxygen that can lead to unconsciousness or death
aspiration withdrawing fluid from a body cavity using suction
bradypnea slow breathing condition
bronchiectatsis dilated bronchus
bronchospasm involuntary muscle contractions of the smooth muscles in the wall of the bronchus
Cheyne-Stokes respiration abnormal breathing pattern in which there are long periods of apnea followed by deep rapid breathing
clubbing abnormal widening of the ends of the fingers and toes due to chronic oxygen deficiency
crackles abnormal sounds made during inspiration due to the presence of mucus or fluid
cyanosis abnormal condition of blue tint to the skin
dysphonia condition of difficulty producing sounds or producing abnormal sounds
dyspnea difficult or labored breathing
epistaxis nosebleed
eupnea normal breathing
hemoptysis to cough up clood
hemothorax presence of blood in the chest cavity
hypercapnia condition of excessive CO2
hyperpnea taking deep breaths
hyperventilation breathing too fast and too deep
hypocapnia insufficient CO2 in the body
