Color in Terminology

| alb(white) albino (white) | albinoism: lacking of pigment in hair, eyes and skin |
| chlor/o (green) | chlorophyll: pigment in plants |
| cirrh/o (yellow) | cirrhosis: chronic disease of the liver |
| cyan/o (blue) | cyanoderma: slightly bluish. greyish tint of the skin |
| eosin/o (red) | eosinophil: leukocyte that stains a red, rosy color with acid dye |
| erythr/o (red) | erythrocyte: mature red blood cels |
| glauc/o (gray/silver) | glaucoma: dissorder of the eye caused by excessive intraocular pressure |
| jaund/o (yellow) | jaundice: yellow discoloration of skin |
| lute/o (yellow) | corpus tecum: a yellow mass on the ovary after ovulation |
| leuk/o (white) | leukoplakia: white, hard, thickened patches that attach to mucous membranes like the mouth, vulva, penis |
| melan/o (black) | melanoma: dark, pigmented cancerous tumor |
| poli/o (gray) | poliomyelitis: inflammation of the grey matter of the spinal chord |
| purpur/o (purple) | purpura: blood collection beneath skin, pinpoint hemorrhages, appears red/purple |
| rube (red) | contagious viral disease |
| xanth/o (yellow) | xanthoderma: yellow coloring of the skin |
