| ECG | Electrocardiogram: A test that measures the electrical activity of the heart. |
| BP | Blood Pressure: The force of blood against the walls of arteries as the heart pumps it around the body. |
| CH | A condition where the heart is unable to pump blood effectively. |
| CAD | Coronary Artery Disease: A condition caused by the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries. |
| PVC | Premature Ventricular Contraction: An extra, abnormal heartbeat that originates in the ventricles. |
| HR | Heart Rate: The number of heartbeats per minute. |
| O2 | Oxygen: A gas essential for respiration and metabolism. |
| CO2 | Carbon Dioxide: A waste product of cellular respiration that is expelled through the lungs. |
| IV | Intravenous: A method of delivering fluids or medications directly into a vein. |
| MI. | Myocardial Infarction: A heart attack, caused by the interruption of blood flow to the heart muscle. |
| Hodgkin's Disease | A type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system, named after Thomas Hodgkin. |
| Korotkoff Sounds | The sounds heard through a stethoscope when measuring blood pressure, named after Dr. Nikolai Korotkoff. |
| Ehrlich's Immunology Theory | Named after Paul Ehrlich, describing the relationship between antibodies and antigens in the immune system. |
| Fallot's Tetralogy | A congenital heart defect involving four heart abnormalities, named after Étienne-Louis Arthur Fallot. |
