| Alliance | a union or team formed to support and protect one another |
| Armistice | a formal agreement to end fighting and allow for treaty negotiations |
| Assassination | a murder of an important person in a surprise attack for political, religious, social, or economic reasons. |
| Atrocities | an extremely wicked or cruel act, typically one involving physical violence or injury |
| Competition | the act of striving to gain or win something by defeating or establishing superiority over others |
| Conflict | a serious disagreement or argument |
| Conscription | the practice of forcing people to join the military if they are able to fight |
| Entente | a friendly understanding between states or factions |
| Mandate | an official order to do something |
| Militarism | the belief that a nation should focus on building and keeping a powerful military to gain power and influence |
| Peace | freedom from disturbance or conflict |
| Propaganda | information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view |
| Reconcilitation | the restoration or return of friendly relations |
| Reparations | making up for the wrong one has done, usually by paying money |
| Stalemate | a situation in which neither group involved in an argument can win or get an advantage |
| Tension | the condition of stress, strain, or pressure |
| Trench Warfare | a type of combat in which opposing soldiers fight from trenches facing each other. |
