Review of Systems (ROS) Inventory of the body systems that is obtained through a series of questions in order to identify signs and/or symptoms which the patient may be experiencing
Medical Diagnosis (Dx) Formal statement of the disease entity or illness made by the physician or health care provider
Petechiae Non blanching, pinpoint-size red or purple spots on the skin caused by small hemorrhages in the skin layers
Autonomy being self-directed and independent in accomplishing goals and advocating for others

comorbidity existing simultaneously with and usually independently of another medical condition
malaise a general sense of being unwell, often accompanied by fatigue, diffuse pain, or lack of interest in activities
anorexia lack or loss of appetite for food
leukocytosis a high level of white blood cells in the blood, greater than 10,000
neutropenia the presence of abnormally few neutrophils in the blood, leading to increased susceptibility to infection
tort civil wrongful acts or omissions made against a person or property
intentional tort deliberate acts against a person or their property that may result in both civil and criminal actions
quasi-intentional tort acts in which a person may not intent to cause harm to another but does
unintentional tort when a person is harmed and the person inflicting the harm knew of should have known
living will a legal document that expresses the client's wishes regarding medical treatment in the event the client becomes incapacitated and is facing end of life issues
durable power of attorney document in which clients designate a healthcare proxy to make healthcare decisions for them if they are unable to do so
glasgow coma scale neurological assessment used to determine the level of consciousness and monitor response to treatment
