2.2 Neurons

TermDefinition
electrostatic force is the ion movement due to opposite charges being attracted to each other
Concentration gradient Is the ion movement due to differences concentration density
Depolarization is when the electrical charge of the neuron rises, decreasing the difference between the inside and outside of the cell
Hyperpolarization Is when the electrical charge of a neuron lowers, increasing the difference between the inside and outside of the cell
Propagation Is the movement of a signal down the axon
Continuous Conductance Is the propagation of a signal down unmyelinated neurons
Saltatory Conductance Is the propagation of a signal down myelinated neurons
