LifeCycle of Disease

QuestionAnswer
Incubation Stage Pathogen has entered the body and started multiplying, but no signs or symptoms have appeared
Prodromal Stage The first onset of signs and symptoms occur.
Acute Stage The disease reaches its highest point of development; symptoms most severe.
Declining Stage The symptoms start to subside; the infection is still present, but the patient’s health starts to return to normal.
Convalescent Stage The symptoms have all but completely vanished, and the pathogen has been mostly eliminated. The patient begins to regain their health.
