gonadotropin -tropin: to turn / stimulate. gonado-: gonads / reproductive glands. definition: a hormone that stimulates the gonads (testes or ovaries)
corticosteroids -steroids: a type of organic compound Cortico-: cortex, the outer layer of an organ, it refers to the adrenal cortex. definition: steroid hormones produced by the adrenal cortex
edema body tissues contain excessive amounts of fluid
uria urine condition
dipsia Thirst
hypoglycemia low blood sugar
estrogen female sex hormone
polydipsia condition of too much thirst.
thyrotoxicosis abnormal condition of poisoning by the thyroid
insulin regulates and promotes entry of glucose into the cells
