MEDICAL TERMS

| MRI | Magnetic Resonance Imaging A medical imaging technique used to visualize internal structures of the body, particularly soft tissues. |
| FHR | Fetal Heart Rate The number of heartbeats per minute of a fetus, monitored during pregnancy to assess fetal well-being. |
| OTC | Over-the-Counter Medications available without a prescription, typically for minor health issues. |
| EKG | Electrocardiogram A test that records the electrical activity of the heart to detect any irregularities. |
| Dx | Diagnosis The identification of a disease or condition based on symptoms, tests, and clinical evaluation. |
| CBC | Complete blood count A blood test that measures many properties of the cells in your blood |
| RBC | Red Blood Cells Cells that carry oxygen throughout the body. |
| SOB | Shortness of Breath Difficulty breathing or feeling out of breath. |
| FBS | Fasting Blood Sugar A blood test that measures the amount of glucose in the blood after fasting for at least 8 hours. |
| Huntington's Disease | A progressive genetic disorder that causes the breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, leading to movement disorders, cognitive decline, and psychiatric symptoms. |
| Bell's Palsy | A condition that causes sudden, temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles on one side of the face due to nerve damage. |
| Parkinson's Disease | progressive neurological disorder affecting movement, causing tremors, stiffness, slowness, and balance problems. |
| Asperger | difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication; autism spectrum disorder |
