| Term | Definition |

| Nasal Cavity | The space behind the nose that filters, warms, and moistens air. |
| Pharynx | The passage that connects the nasal and oral cavities to the larynx, involved in swallowing and breathing. |
| Larynx | Often referred to as the voice box, it contains the vocal cords and is crucial for sound production. |
| Trachea | The windpipe that connects the larynx to the bronchi, allowing air to enter the lungs. |
| Bronchi | The two main branches of the trachea that lead into each lung, further dividing into smaller bronchioles. |
| Esophagus | A muscle tube that connects the throat to the stomach, facilitating the movement of food. |
| Stomach | The organ where food is mixed with gastric juices for digestion. |
| Small Intestine | A crucial organ for nutrient absorption, it’s divided into three parts: duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. |
| Large Intestine | The part of the digestive system that absorbs water and forms waste products. |
| Pancreas | An organ that produces digestive enzymes and hormones, including insulin. |
| Kidneys | Organs responsible for filtering blood and producing urine. |
