Explain how Egypt was isolated and protected at the same time? P1 They were isolated on all 4 sides by natural barriers. The Eastern and Western deserts. The cataracts to the south and the delta to the north.
Explain how Egypt was isolated and protected at the same time? P2 This kept their enemies from easily getting to them. In the same respect it also made it difficult for them to gain contact with other cultures through trade.
Explain the process of mummification P1 The body was washed and then the gut organs were removed through an incision at the side of the body. The heart was left in the body. The brain was then removed through the nose.
Explain the process of mummification P2 All the organs (except the brain) were dried and put in canopic jars. The body was then covered in salt (natron) for about 40 days to dry it out. It was then washed again and wrapped in linen cloth and resin.
Why is it was important to Egyptian religious beliefs. P1 The Egyptians believed that their important people went on to a wonderful afterlife and that the soul would need to be reunited with the earthly body.
