Lou Gehrigs Disease A fatal disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Also known as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
Graves Disease Disorder of the immune system that causes the thyroid gland to make too much thyroid hormone. Also known as Hyperthyroidism.
Da Costa's Syndrome A syndrome or set of symptoms similar to those of heart disease. Also known as Soliders heart or Neurocirculatory Asthenia.
Addisons Disease A disorder in which the adrenal glands don't produce enough hormones. Also Known as Hypocortisolism.
Pagets Disease of bone Disrupts the replacement of old bone tissue with new bone tissue. Also Known as PDB or Osteitis deformans.
Biopsy Medical procedure that involves removing cells and tissue from the body for examination by a pathologist.
Actinic Keratosis Rough scaly patch on the skin caused by years of sun exposure.
Chronic Something that lasts a long time and doesn't go away easily or quickly.
Abrupt Sudden breaking off or away.
Malaise General feeling of discomfort, illness or lack of well being.
