| Hellenistic Era | The period 300 to 30 BCE in which Greek culture spread widely in the Middle East and India in the city states ruled by Alexander the Great |
| Alexandria | An Egyptian city established by Hellenistic rulers, had a huge population and a major avenue for the spread of Greek culture |
