Define: Need a lack of something required or something you have to 'do' to meet a desired outcome.
Define: Value deeply held attitudes and beliefs a person has about the truth or worth of an action.
What are the 5 levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs? 1. Self-Actualization, 2. Esteem, 3. Love and belonging, 4. Safety and Security, and 5. Physiological needs.
What are the 3 distinct subsections of values? 1. societal values, 2. professional values, and 3. personal values.
Define: Societal Values includes rights, liberties, health, intelligence, safety and independence.
Define: Professional Values a result of socialization with occupational peers and adherence to professional codes of conduct and standards of professional practice.
Define: Personal Values characteristics of a person that make them unique and define the beliefs they share with other people.
What are some professional values of the rehabilitation assistant? 1. Respect the rights and dignity of others, 2. confidentiality, 3. informed consent, 4. refraining from sexual relations with patients, 5. compliance with laws and governing practice regulations, 6. acceptance of responsibility, 7.consumer honesty
