Med terminology

TermDefinition
Osteopathy A system of medical practices that emphasizes the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation and massage of the bones, joints, and muscles.
Craniometer An instrument used to measure the size of a skull.
Cervicitis Inflammation of the cervix.
Cervical Spine The neck region of your spinal column or backbone.
Periosteum A fibrous sheath that covers the bones.
Cerebropathy A hypochondriacal condition verging upon insanity, occurring in those whose brains have been unduly taxed.
Cerebrospinal Relating to the brain and spine.
Epidural On or around the dura mater, in particular introduced into the space around the dura mater of the spinal cord.
CT scan A diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce images of the inside of the body.
MRI Magnetic Resonance imaging.
Otoscopy A procedure used to examine structures of the ear, particularly the external auditory canal, tympanic membrane, and middle ear.
Audiometry Measurement of the range and sensitivity of a person's sense of hearing.
Keratitis Inflammation of the cornea.
Conjuctivitis Inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye.
Microtia A rare condition in which the external ear is small and not properly formed.
