What goes on the left column in our Cornell Notes? Keywords, vocabulary, questions
What is written on the right column of our Cornell Notes? Diagrams, topic, answers, notes
What are the four rules of note taking in Social Studies? 1. Write them like Mrs. McMichael does! 2. Definitions, examples, drawing, etc. 3. Link to other ideas; relate to other things you know. 4. Write (?) if you don't understand something.
How do we mark the text? 1. Circle dates 2. Underline proper nouns (names of people, places and things) 3. Highlight key important facts (NOT EVERYTHING!)
What is the last thing we do when taking notes? Summary - 3-5 sentences in your own words about what you learned on that page.
What phrase do we NEVER start our summaries with? I learned.... or We learned .... *Just start talking about it! Answer your EQ. For example: T/O: How to take notes You would answer... In SS we take notes by....
What are the 5 themes of geography? Location, Place, Human Environment Interaction, Movement, Region
What are the two historical sources? Primary and Secondary
What are primary sources? Someone who was there during the event. EX: photo
What are secondary sources? Something that is not from that time period. EX: textbook
