Explain what a veto was and how it worked in the Roman republic. A veto is something done to undo a law that has recently been made and votes for. In the roman republic, Consuls and Tribunes were the only ones who could remove a law that was recently made.
Why were many poor Romans so loyal to their military commanders after the army was opened to all free male citizens? Romans were more loyal to their military commanders because they could rely on them to obtain land for them once they retired from the army. They like that opportunity much more than being poor.
