Type and Rh | Determination of blood group (ABO) and type (Rh) by identifying agglutinins present or absent |
Type and Crossmatch | Determination of blood group and general screening for antibodies of recipient's blood and then recipient and donor blood are checked against each other for compatibility |
Compatibility testing | Detection of unsuspected antibodies and antigens in recipient's and donor's blood that could cause severe reaction if transfused |
