Why did the people of Africa migrate? Changes in climate caused rain to stop and land dried out, no more rivers, grassy plains or forests. People move to east and south.
How did the Bantu languages help trace African migration? This is a group of languages spoken in a large part of Africa. As the speakers of these languages moved south, their language spread with them.
What effect did gold have on West Africa? This was a valuable resource to the empires of West Africa. It made them very wealthy and brought in trade goods from other lands.
What did Ghana's location help it be a wealthy empire? This location between salt mines in the Sahara and the gold fields made middlemen wealthy and turned it into an empire.
What is the Mesa Musa The greatest king of Mali, who was a strong Muslin ruler. Made pilgrimages to Mecca, built mosques and encouraged Muslin beliefs and scholarship.
