afebrile literally means pertaining to without fever
anicteric term used to describe a condition that is without signs of jaundice

binary literally means to separate into two branches or composed of two elements or two structures
concentration the process of being able to bring to the center of one thought and focus on it
decompensation failure of a system
enucleate literally means to remove the kernel
extraocular pertaining to outside the eye, as used in describing the extraocular eye muscles
hyperactive nature or quality of excessive activity
hypoplasia underdevelopment of a tissue, organ, or body
insomnia condition of not being able to sleep
intermediary pertaining to situated between two bodies or occuring between two periods of time
latent lying hidden; quiet, not active
lumen space within an artery, vein, intestine, or tube
multifocal pertaining to or arising from many locations
occlusion process of closing or state of being closed such as of a passage or lumen
parasternal pertaining to either side of the sternum
patent wide open; freely open
pericardial pertaining to the pericardium
polydactyly pertaining to having more than the normal number of fingers and toes
premenstrual pertaining to the number of days before the discharge of the menses
react literally means to act again
regurgitation process of a backward flow of solids or foods from the stomach to the mouth
sign any objective clinical evidence of an illness or disordered funcion of the body
subacute literally means below sharp
superinfection an infection following a previous infection produced by an overgrowth of a resistant strain of bacteria
symptom any perceptible change in the function of the body that indicates disease
unconscious an abnormal state in which the person is not aware of his or her environment
