thrombocytes clotting cells, a.k.a. platelets, formed in bone marrow
eosinophils white blood cell type, granulocyte, increased in allergic conditions
basophils white blood cell type, granulocyte, increased in healing phase of inflammation
neutrophils white blood cell type, granulocyte, disease fighting cells, most numerous, are phagocytes
lymphocytes white blood cell type, mononuclear, produce antibodies
monocytes white blood cell type, mononuclear, engulf and destroy cellular debris after neutrophils done
laparoscopy visual examination of the abdominal cavity
tracheotomy incision into the trachea
adenoids small masses of lymphatic tissue in pharynx (throat) (literal: resembling glands)
polymorphonuclear pertaining to many shape nucleus
phagocyte cell that swallows
acromegaly enlargement of extremities. Caused by pituitary gland overproducing after puberty
