Steaming Up | practice of increasing the amount of concentrates being fed to ewes in late gestation in order to prevent twin lamb disease. Ensures healthy lambs and milk production. |

Sponging | progesterone impregnated sponges inserted into ewes vagina for 12 days to synchronise the oestrous cycle. |
Fostering | ewes mother a lamb that is not her own. |
Pheromone | Chemical produced by males to attract females for breeding. Brings about the onset of heat. |
