| Health Informatics | Primarily focused on management of departments, agencies, and patient data. |
| Support Services | Primarily focused on providing a therapeutic environment for the delivery of healthcare |
| Biotechnology Research and Development | Primarily focused on discovery, research, and development for new diagnostic testing, new treatments and medical devices to improve patient care. |
| Multidisciplinary Team | Team set up to work together using their areas of expertise to find a solution to problems effecting patient care and safety; team members may come from all pathways of healthcare. |
| Orthopedic | A branch of medicine that works with conditions involving the skeletal and muscle systems. |
| Trauma Emergencies | Damage caused by by physical harm from external sources |
| Medical Emergencies | Involves illnesses or conditions caused by disease; cam be due to a pathogen or genetics. |
| Radiology | A branch of medicine that uses images to diagnose and treat disease seen inside the body. |
| Vital Signs | Signs that are essential to life; include temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. |
| Signs | Used to assess the patient; can be seen and/or measured |
| Symptoms | Used to assess the patient; are describes by the patient. |
| Therapy | Treatment for disorder; many different forms including medication, counseling or other medical procedure. |
| Rehabilitation | A branch of medicine that focuses on enhancement or restoring function or quality of life. |
| Activities of Daily Living | Activities that people tend to do every day without assistance, for example eating, bathing, walking. |
| Pathogen | A disease caused by a biological organisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungus. |
