Honors World History Basic Vocab Words To Know

TermDefinition
Geography The study of people, their environments, and resources available to them
History The study of how people have lived in the past, and past events.
Culture The way of life of a society that is handed down from one generation to the next by learning and experiences
Economics The system of production, exchange, distribution, and the consumption of goods and services.
Government The group responsible for the control, supervision, and the administration of a country.
Politics The practice of governing and making policy that controls, supervises, and administers a country.
State A defined geographic area in charge.
Society A body of individuals living together as a community.
Social Class Division of people in a society based on their political power, wealth, ethnicity, or some other attribute.
Nobility A social Class distinguished by their wealth, privileges, and political power.
Peasant A member of a rural social class of small farmers or farm laborers.
Empire A group of states or territories controlled by 1 ruler.
