Assessment Terms

TermDefinition
Inspection observation of one or more areas of the body
Auscultation use of a stethoscope to listen to sounds in the body
Palpation pressure on the skin above internal organs or structures to check for abnormalities
Percussion tapping areas on the body to produce a vibrating sound
Olfaction use of the sense of smell to detect abnormalities
Diagnostic Testing use of tests to help diagnose a condition or disease
