| Neolithic | Also known as the New Stone Age, when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed. It is also a time when humans began to domesticate plants and animals |
| Artifact | An object that holds cultural and historical importance |
| Archeology | The study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains |
| Paleolithic | Also known as the Old Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used. |
| Permanent Settlements | People build home to live in and occupy for a longer period of time |
| Anthropology | The study of human societies and cultures and their development |
| Domestication | Taming an animal and keeping it as farm produce or cultivating a plant for food. |
| Hunter Gatherer | a member of a nomadic people who live chiefly by hunting, fishing, and harvesting wild food |
| Culture | the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group |
| Irrigation | The supply of water to land or crops to help growth, typically by means of channels. |
| Technology | Machinery and equipment developed from the application of scientific knowledge. |
| Nomadic | A community that roams about from place to place without a fixed pattern of movement |
